Submission of an adoption application does not guarantee approval or obligate the Rescue to place a cat with the applicant. All applications are subject to review and approval at the sole discretion of the Rescue. The Rescue reserves the right to decline an application or determine that a particular cat is not an appropriate match for the applicant based on the cat’s needs, temperament, medical or behavioral considerations, the applicant’s circumstances, or any other factors deemed relevant to the cat’s best interests.

Submitting an application does not create a contract, reservation, or promise of adoption. The Rescue’s primary consideration is the health, safety, and long-term welfare of each cat.

EMERGENCY CONTACTS (for future microchip registration)

We are not open to the public. However, that is the good news! Once we approve your application and agree on placing one of our rescue cats in your home, we bring the cat to you! That will also count as the home visit that is required for adoption. We may ask you to send some photos ahead of time to ensure your home is suitable and safe.

All adoptable pets at DART come fully vetted, sterilized, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP, and microchipped. The microchip will be transferred in your name upon adoption of the cat. DART will remain as secondary contact on the registry at all times in case of an emergency if you cannot be reached. If any point the Adopter feels it necessary to rehome the adopted pet, DART will have first right of refusal and accept the Adopted Pet back no questions asked.
